EXAVY specializes in the project development of integrated grid infrastructures and next-generation energy systems.

Exemplary development of a project idea

A local authority or private operator of a business park is planning to set up a CO₂-neutral local heating network to supply residential areas, public facilities and commercial premises. The aim is to reduce fossil heating systems in the long term and install reliable renewable energy systems. The project is part of the municipality’s local climate protection concept and is being implemented as a PPP or municipal minority shareholding with an experienced private partner.

The following project parameters are a good guideline for projects that can be implemented quickly:

  • Project region: Germany

  • Investment volume: up to € 10 million
  • Units supplied: between 200 – 500 subscribers including municipal facilities and local companies
  • Heat requirement: 10 – 20 GWh/a

  • Existing network infrastructures, heat source and generation concept: ideas about existing, planned or conceivable heat or power generation plants, information about the existing infrastructure

  • Route concept: estimated network length, estimation of synergies from co-laying with road construction and other construction measures such as wastewater, electricity and fiber optics

  • Power source & generation concept: Estimation of the PV areas on the roofs of municipal facilities and open spaces

  • Sustainability: CO₂ savings target from the regional sustainability strategy; existing transformation plan if applicable
  • Financing and subsidies: participation of the municipality or the owner in the financing if necessary

  • Project duration: rough idea of the time frame, commissioning date

  • Operating model: rough idea of contracting model and operating period

Synergy in the context of modern energy networks.

Where electricity, heating and fiber optic infrastructures grow together, the requirements for planning, construction and operation also change. EXAVY and its partners support local authorities, housing associations, municipal utilities and project developers in joint projects to implement synergetic network planning with strategic foresight and to integrate co-laying in construction measures for network expansion in the coming years.
