Project Description

Consulting module ” Sustainability report for infrastructure business models”

Sustainability is becoming the standard – in terms of regulation, subsidy law and society. For energy and heating network operators, this means that without documented sustainability performance, it will be more difficult to raise capital, eligibility for subsidies will be reduced and legitimacy in the neighborhood will be called into question. EXAVY works with you to develop a resilient, connectable and updatable sustainability report – whether voluntary or in accordance with the CSRD. What is being developed in a structured consultation process?

  • Classification of statutory reporting obligations (CSRD, DNK, VSME) – Clarification of whether voluntary or mandatory reporting is necessary

  • Development of a thematically structured sustainability report – reporting structure along the lines of strategy, target system, measures, data and impact

  • Integration of energy and heat topics – carbon footprint (Scope 1-3), primary energy factor, life cycle emissions, supply effects

  • Establishment of a low-code-based database for report updates – for KPIs, sources, measures and stakeholder feedback – permanently maintainable

  • Digital workflow for coordination, editing and audit preparation – suitable for review by third parties and for inclusion in management reports

Scope of the module

Exavy supports heating network operators, local authorities and energy companies in the systematic preparation of a sustainability report. A permanent reporting process is established – with a data model, low-code support and a reporting structure in accordance with CSRD & ESG criteria.

  • Report architecture & project structure

    • Analysis of legal requirements (CSRD, DNK, DNK compact, SMEs)
    • Project structure with milestones, kick-off, role clarification, database structure
    • Development of a BSC/ESG matrix with target system, measures and indicators
  • Contents, sources & CO₂ balance sheet

    • Survey, analysis and modeling of the carbon footprint (Scope 1-3) of heating networks
    • Impact assessment of key measures (e.g. switch to RE, reduction of grid losses)
    • List of sources with data collection methods, contact persons and quality assurance
  • Editing & approval process

    • Creation of text modules for all reporting areas
    • Preliminary coordination with auditors and funding agencies
    • Editing, proofreading, layout preparation and API-enabled data provision
  • Medium-term data management – IT & low-code-supported implementation

    • Development of a database for the long-term management of ESG data points
    • Annual update via structured workflows & low-code dashboards
    • Integration into reporting obligations (e.g. management report, funding reports)
  • Project completion & reporting toolkit

    • Final report as text, table, data model & digital export (PDF, web, API)
    • Handover of the reporting system incl. training
    • Optional: ESG key figure monitoring and annual update (from year 2)

Promise of results: ESG performance – visible & auditable

  • a complete sustainability report, compatible with CSRD, DNK or VSME

  • a comprehensible impact model, especially for heat and energy networks

  • A permanently usable data management system for key figures, measures & targets

  • A report that fulfills stakeholder requirements and eligibility criteria and strengthens investors
